According to the New York Daily News, Shreveport, La., police officers might have gotten rough when they arrested actors Josh Brolin and Jeffrey Wright at a recent wrap party for "W.," Oliver Stone's film about George W. Bush. In the controversial movie, Brolin plays President Bush and Wright is cast as Colin Powell. The Rush & Molloy gossip column contends that a squad of 10 police officers "got aggressive" with the actors and crew members at the Stray Cat bar - blinding at least one of them with pepper spray. A police rep told the paper: "We are not at liberty to discuss the specifics of the incident. But officers will use whatever force they feel is necessary to effect a safe arrest." One source said something about racial epithet directed at Wright. But Det. Rod Demery said that he hadn't heard of any slurs being used and that police were called "because we got a report of an unruly patron." One lighting tech was arrested. Wright, Brolin and four other people were charged with interfering with the arrest. Curiously MIA? Oliver Stone, who had left the wrap party early. Hmmm. To my mind, this is stranger than the grassy knoll or the single bullet theory combined.
